I last posted here with a year-end update, and I am finally back for my first post in 2023 with an update on things to come. I’m happy to say I have a few shows, markets, and projects already lined up, so I’ll get right to it:
- I have a variety of my best watercolor paintings (17 of them, to be exact) currently up in a gallery exhibit at the Springer Cultural Center in downtown Champaign, IL, now through March 18. The exhibit is free and open to the public (and having my art on their walls makes it feel so official!).
- My first design for decoupage paper with Painting Lady Designs will release in March, featuring several of my small flower paintings on one sheet. At the beginning of the month (starting March 6th) I’ll also be the featured artist in their “Meet the Maker” segment in the public Facebook group. In the meantime, if you’re interested in decoupage and other crafty projects, the website linked above has all kinds of other fun paper designs and such. (I’m especially excited about this because it’s my first real licensing deal and I’m eager to see how it goes!)
- I just found out this morning (!) that I’ve been accepted into the Boneyard Arts Market for the second year in a row; that’s happening April 14 and 15 at the Lincoln Square Mall in Urbana. BAM is organized by the same folks who do the Mistletoe Markets, and they’re some of my favorite (and most successful!) markets to participate in.
- And finally, I have been accepted into the De Stihl Maker’s Market for Sunday, May 21 in Bloomington, IL. I’ve been to this one as a patron and am looking forward to being a vendor in the expanded outdoor version. (They haven’t updated their events page as far out as May yet, but the Maker’s Market is a monthly event, and they have some other interesting stuff on their calendar too.)
These are just my confirmed events; I have a few more markets and at least one other exhibit in the works too that I’m excited to get finalized and share more about soon. News on the creative work is also on its way.
So that’s my big news right now – I hope your 2023 is off to a promising start too!
